BuildOptix holds every site you run in a single register — profile, programme stage, principal contractor, the people assigned and every record raised against it. The all-sites view and a single site's workspace are the same data seen at two distances.
A main contractor's problem is rarely one site. It is six, at different stages, with different subcontractors on each, and a compliance position that nobody can state out loud without opening six folders first. The register exists so that the answer to how are we doing is a screen rather than an afternoon.
Programme stage is part of the site record rather than something tracked alongside it, because what a site owes changes as it moves. A job in pre-construction owes an F10 and a construction phase plan. A job three weeks from handover owes a health and safety file. Holding the stage on the record is what lets the platform surface the right thing at the right point.
Access follows the same logic. Site staff see the sites they work on, not the whole portfolio, which keeps a supervisor's view to the job in front of them and keeps commercially sensitive work off screens that do not need it.

- Next week's schedule is rebuilt from scratch in a new spreadsheet, and last week's is the only surviving record of who was actually on site
- A site reaches handover and its records are spread across a shared drive, an inbox, and a filing cabinet in a cabin that has already gone
- A new starter is given access to everything, because access is a folder and folders do not have roles
